1. FT Caps donation programs for Puntos Verdes

2. Partnership with PetStar

The PET recovered through our collection programs is sent to PetStar, the world's largest PET (food grade) recycling plant, which recycles 3.44 billion PET bottles per year. All recovered PET will not reach the oceans, Mexican “cenotes” and the groundwater level, which will provide clean water sources in the communities where Mega Empack has a presence.

We recover 6 out of every 10 bottles we put on the market, so PetStar can process 3.1 billion bottles a year, equivalent to filling 2.4 times the “Aztec Stadium” or forming 5.6 times the pyramid of Chichén Itzá.

With these actions we achieved the manufacture of new PET products, thus integrating a sustainable circular economy.

3. Use of recycled resins

According to the website Ambiente Plástico, currently in Mexico only 635 kilotons of virgin resin are consumed, plus 340 kilotons of recycled resin.

4. Packaging lightweighting projects to reduce the amount of plastic

Process of liner removal from carafe lids to eliminate a few tons of waste.

5. Manufacture of recycled packaging

All our products are 100% recyclable (PET containers, PC bottles, HDPE bottle lids). Also, Mega Empack is currently researching a resin derived from natural compounds.
